Gauntlet/Gloves

If you purchased the Galactic Tyrant you know you can’t use only one glove (gauntlet) because they were designed to automatically hide the figure’s arms all the way to the tips of the fingers. This does not allow you to hide any of the gauntlets because the figure’s arms and hands remain hidden and you are not able to unhide them.

If you want to use only one gauntlet you will have to edit the gloves’ .dsf files.

This is what you are going to have to do, for the Genesis 3 and Genesis 8 figures. I use the Genesis 8 .dsf file here as an example.

Navigate to:

x:\[your runtime]\data\Sixus1\GalacticTyrant_G8\GalacticTyrantGloves

The file that you want to edit is Gloves_25290.dsf (make a copy of it, in case you make an editing mistake).

Run a text editor (I use Notepad++) and load the file, then search for the following section and delete it and save the file.

“graft” : {
“vertex_count” : 16384,
“poly_count” : 16196,
“vertex_pairs” : {
“count” : 0,
“values” : [ ]
},
“hidden_polys” : {
“count” : 3632,
“values” : [ 9766, … 15505 ]
}
},

You are then able to hide and unhide as you normally do.

You can also do the same for the other clothing parts: boots, pants, and shirt. Just remove that graft section from their .dsf files.

Stones on the Gauntlet

The entire gauntlet is shaded with a metallic material even though the stones are separate zones. So you can and will want to use different shaders on the stones.

For that you can use the free Car paint presets under Shader Presets/Iray/DAZ Uber if you don’t have a suitable third party shader pack to use on them. You can apply the “Car Paint – Red – Large Flakes” shader preset to the stones and then change the color for each of the stones to reflect the power they represent: blue, green, pink, purple, red, and yellow.

For the image below I used the Refracted – Iray Glass Presets shader pack as they did a better job than my gemstone shaders.
